Adverse InfoPath effects: Upgrading SharePoint 2010 farm to SP1

    Hello,

I have a SharePoint 2010 site collection that utilizes qRules in administrator deployed browser forms. We are looking to upgrade our farm to SP1 and the December 2011 cumulative update. Does anyone know if this is going to break my existing deployed InfoPath 2010 forms?

    Thanks,
    Brandon

Hi - internally, we found that upgrading to SP1 and cumulative update did not cause issues with our forms.

That said, you would be wise to reserve a maintenance window after the upgrade to test your forms - I've had a few blog posts recently on issues I've had with IPFS and forms with managed code, and I am never confident in the consistency of IPFS behavior.

    Hilary,

Once again, thanks for the lightning fast response!

I was thinking exactly the same thing as your mentioned in your response, but I wanted to get an expert's opinion. Fortunately, we are doing this in a certification environment and not our production environment. I'll make sure to add an IPFS testing/validation step to our post-upgrade checklist.

    Regards,
    Brandon
