    Digital Signatures

Hello - how do I specify certain fields on the form I want "signed" ?  I want all fields on the form to be "signed" except for one.  I see the option under the advanced tab but how do I select all of the groups/sections/fields but one?

    Thank you,
    Jeanne

You can digitally sign a form based on sections.  So what I would recommend is putting all of your signable controls into one section that leave the one that doesn't need to be signed out.  Then go into the properties of that section and allow digital signatures.

Thank you for your reply.  What do you mean by "signable controls"? The sections that I need signed or the actual signature controls?

Here's my situation:  I have six sections on the form that have rules set up based off the first section. (If this box is checked, show me this section...) when you get to the bottom of the form there are six signature control fields.  Under the section with the signature controls contained there is another section with a "comments' field.  I want all of the sections on the form to be "signed" (can't make changes to them) except for the "comments" section.  I only want the signatures to appear at the bottom of the form.  Does this make sense?

    Thank you,
    Jeanne

You can go into the properties of a section control and then go to the Digital Signature tab.  If you make this section signable then you will get the signed behavior you want.  This will make the signature appear under the section.  If you have multiple section, I'm not sure of a way to get all of the signatures to appear on the bottom of the form.  You just need to make sure that all you controls are within these signable sections because they will be read only once you sign.  The comments field can't be in a section that is signable if you want it to be editable throughout.

Hope I'm making sense to you :)

Yes - makes perfect sense.  However, I do not want the signatures to appear under each section - only at the bottom of the form.  Imagine a paper form with signature fields at the bottom of the form.  Fields for individual signers "Manager Signature" , VP Signature, etc.  I haven't found a way to do make it work yet.

    Thank you

Have you tried the Signature Line control?  Maybe that would help you in your scenario.  This is a filler only control in 2010 however.

Yes - that is what I am using but it doesn't allow you to choose multiple sections when choosing what sections to sign - it only allows for one section.  I can't figure out how to choose more than one section using the signature line control.
