    Publish Form Using GUID

I have recently came across a Form library I have published where IP, when promoting the fields, converts the fields name to a GUID. making it a long string. Although in the list view and settings the display name is viewed normal, it's the Field Internal Name that is returning as the GUID. Makes it very difficult to read and confirm in formulas. This has only occured, to my knowledge, using IP 2010 and SP 2010 together. Does any one know why this is happening? Is there a way to fix or change this?

    Kind regards,
    Larry

    Hi JaxKookie,

I don't know why this is happening. The GUID you are seeing is generated on publish for a newly promoted property. If the name of the promoted property had some strange character in it, maybe that's why it is using the GUID. It should handle duplicate names fine, but that could be another reason I could imagine. It's easy to change, just go into Promoted Properties dialog (File->Form Properties) and change the name of the field in question. See if that changes it on SharePoint after a republish.

    Best of luck,
