    Open this task button

     Hi,

    These are the steps:

    1. Submitted a browser-based InfoPath 2010 form to a SharePoint form library.

     2. Started a Nintex workflow that sends an email to me.

    3. Clicked on the link in the email.

    4. Clicked on the Open this task button at the top of the InfoPath form.

    5. Got this error message:

Form template: http://xxxx/_layouts/formResource.aspx?templateFile=/xxxforms/Workflows/Test Workflow Nintex 1/FlexiTask_7329bfe8a1d04a56b6a7d25e58dfad72.xsn
The file is not a valid XML document.
    DTD is prohibited.
      Line 2, Position 9

I googled on this issue and found someone talking about security zone, but it didn't help me fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea?

    Thanks in advance.

The issue with the "Open Task Button" is that I don't have Microsoft Outlook. It does not work with Lotus Notes, which is used at my workplace. If I remember correctly, I made a web-based InfoPath form and then I didn't have to deal with this issue.

I am having the same problem.
And, we are using Outlook 2010 with Sharepoint 2010.

I am using the exact same process and getting the same error.
I notice your URL, like mine doesn't have the domain name after the templateFile.
Mine doesn't either. But, adding the domain to my URL seems to work. But, I don't
know where the templateFile is pulling the URL from.

    ?templateFile=http:/missingdomainname/xxxforms/Workflows/Test Workflow Nintex 1/FlexiTask_7329bfe8a1d04a56b6a7d25e58dfad72.xsn

Create a web-base InfoPath form to go around it.

Unfortunately I don't remember what the ultimate solution was. But, I do remember asking my SP CA Admin to look at this - http://blog.karstein-consulting.com/2013/04/08/error-infopath-cannot-open-the-following-form/ I think it had something to do with how the collection was setup. Sorry for the incomplete answer.
