button to expand all conditionally hidden areas

    Hi All

I have a fairly huge corporate Infopath form that the company now want to adopt as a hand-filling form too. I've gone through removed any electronic-only elements (like drop-downs) so it is [just about] complte-able with a mere pen.

However, there are considerable hidden sections through conditional formatting. There are also a couple of a repeaters.

I was wondering if it is at all possible to have a button which will automatically expand/show any hidden elements whatsoever, as well as adding, say, 5 instances of every repeating section.

    Thanks in advance

To show all of your conditionally hidden sections, try this:

Add a new node to the schema named ShowAll. This will be a boolean node. Default to false.

Append the following condition to any of the conditions you already have on your conditional formatting sections:

    AND ShowAll = false

Now, when you set ShowAll to true, the conditional formatting on all of your sections should evaluate to false and therefore display every one of them, regardless of the other conditions.

As for adding 5 instances of a repeating section or table, I can't think of another way to do this other than code. Search around this forum or the InfoPath SDK for the .appendChild() and .cloneNode() functions. Another resource would be to look at the HowTo I wrote on creating a print view with code. It's not exactly what you're looking for but it has good examples of using the appendChild and cloneNode functions.

    I hope this helps!
