Change View based on remote Variable

    Hello there,

first of all I would like to say sorry for my english since I am from Germany.

    I am using InfoPath2010 and SPS2010.

My aim is, to switch a view in a web-based infopath form (I created the form out of the SharePoint-list). That is, why I have three views (new item, edit item, display item) and no chance to code something in the background (and due to the fact, that my company does not want coding solutions for this issue). The default view is set to "edit". I submit a variable within an URL, called "view". It looks like:

    editifs.aspx?List=...&ID=...&PageView=Shared&InitialTabId=Ribbon.WebPartPage&VisibilityContext=WSSWebPartPage&view=new

Secondly there is a URL-context-filter, which transports my variable "view" to the infopath-webpart.

As I can see, the content of "view", e.g. "new", is filled in a field, I have created inside of the infopath form. But the view has not switched.

This is, what I have done in Infopath:

    On-Form-Load:
    -condition:    field1="new"
    -action:         switchView: New item

    -condition2:  field1="disp"
    -action2:       switchView: Display item

What am I doing wrong? Can somebody please help me?
If you need any further information do not hesitate to ask for them.

Thank you for any solutions or statements.

    Yours,
    exo

    Hi exo,

Sorry for not seeing this sooner. First I just want to say your english is fine. =)

If I have that scenario, what I would do is drag the field1 in the view. So, on preview, I can verify whether field1 is really showing the correct value in order to switch view - in your case ("disp").

    Hope that helps,

    Jo-Anne

    Hi Jo-Anne,

    Thank your for your reply.

In the meantime I was able to solve this issue. Since I have three asp sites (newifs, editifs, displayifs) that are connected to that one infopath form, I just changed the start-parameter in these three files for the infopath form - saying DefaultView="XX" - so I do not need a dynamic url-filter anymore.

Anyway thanks again for trying to help me.
