Thank you for answering my questions!

I have one more. I have about 10 drop downs in my form and about 20 other fields.

Now when data is chosen from the drop down or filled into a text box and then the user hits "tab" it takes 20 seconds or more to move to the next field.

Why is that?

The users feel like they can't use the form being this slow.

Is this in a browser form? Or filled out in InfoPath?

On those drop downs - do you have "show only unique values" selected? Are they inside a repeating section / table?

some have the show only unique values selected. The others pull from a new and do not need it.

They are inside a repeating tables.

Try deselcting "show only unique" and see if it makes a difference in performance, just to troubleshoot. Here's my blog post on the issue I had with that setting.
