Office 365 & Rest Web Service

    Hello All,

I have an infopath 2010 form hosted on Office 365 forms Library and in my form I've used a REST data connection to a Sharepoint List on the site using the Change Rest URL and Query for Data actions.

When the form tries to access the REST connection by using the concat function to change the URL I get a SENDING DATA TO SERVER box that just hangs and does not function. It will time-out and say either you are offline or the server is offline.

I have tried the following steps to resolve this without any success:

-converted the REST connections to UDCX files on the site (checked permissions and approved the files)

-when i type in the REST URL in my browser I am able to  see the filtered results.

-There is no time out issue if I use a web service connection on my form that is hosted on an external domain, for example the OData web service.

-I created a new simple form with just one REST connection and published it to another library on my site which gives the same error.

-In central admin of office 365 I have the proxy option enabled for Infopath Forms Services.

I'd appreciate anyone's suggestion in resolving this issue.

    Thank you.

    Mark

Update: -The form is able to function properly when I open it in InfoPath Filler. So I guess it is an authentication issue with the browser form. -Fiddler2 provides no info since the connection is HTTPS.

Hi Mark, I have experienced a similar  issue with my Office 365 REST connection.

    Mine was an authentication issue.

I found if I opened the site first in the browser (authenticated) then ran the REST URI it worked.

    Hope this helped.

Bruce, You are right about the authentication issue but I cannot access the form without authentication anyway. The form is browser based, the search field in the form that causes the change REST URL does not function when it is opened in the browser. The form does work if I open it from the Office 365 site in InfoPath Filler.
