Can't get it to shred to sql server

Im test installing Database Accelerator for shredding data into Sql.  I have already designed a custom form that query other webservice as well as containing custom codes.  I cannot get this form to work with the qdabra software.  I have successfully get the included expense report to work just fine both using the local host database as well as using a remote database.  The sample expense report saves as well as insert data correctly.

Why trying to use my form to submit data:

    1.  Initially the form when submitted will say it was successful but no new documents appear under the "Documents" tab in Qdabra NOR any sql entries.

However I changed a number of things, one being setting Security Level to "Automatically determine security level" instead of having the "Sign this form template".  I also removed any custom codes.  So I am not sure what works but it moved along to scenario two below.

    2.  The form will say submitted successfully; documents appears under the "Documents" tab in qdabra.  However, no sql data entries appear.

    So this is the puzzler?????

When I do a submit using the expense report I can see that it's attempting to make a web service connection and see any sql errors.  However, my form just immediately shows the successful dialog....no attempting to connect to the webservice or sql errors.  It leads me to think it's some settings in my form is causing the trouble, but not sure what?

    My setup:
    Infopath 2010
    Two different Dev sharepoint server.
One server has Qdabra install, while I am using another for Qdabra to save to the sql server

Re: Can't get it to shred to sql server

Nevermind, I saw another post saying to use the Reshred all documents in the Document tab.  Which I tried and it gave me the errors needed to correct my problem.

    1.  Not sure why error messages didn't appear when I submit my form
    2.  Still not sure why it didn't save the document in the document tab in the first place

It seems to work now, but I am going to add back the codes and see what happens.

Re: Can't get it to shred to sql server

The Expense Report example uses the DbxlDocumentServiceEx.asmx web service, which throws an exception if any errors occur.  The non-Ex version of the web service handles errors more gracefully and returns them in a data object, but unfortunately, InfoPath Submit connections don't let you inspect the data that's returned without using code, and InfoPath assumes that the submit has succeeded any time there isn't an exception.

We typically don't use the Ex web service because it abruptly halts any rules that were executing when an error happens.  This document describes a method that allows you to perform the submit more gracefully, and has a few other benefits as well:

Another option that's even easier and has all of the benefits of the above is to use the SubmitToDbxl command in our qRules suite.  I'd recommend checking that out if you have any interest.  We have a document on how to use qRules with existing code:

Thank you for trying out DBXL!
