    Section control puzzlement

Hi, This may be a very silly question ( and I kind of hope it is because then hopefully there is an answer) I have a form in which i have added 'Section' controls. The first four that I put in are classed as Fields so therefore I am able to set conditions and rules to include their values. The last two that I put in however are classified as the type 'group' and therefore are classed as having no value so I am unable to apply the rules/conditions that I need to them.

I'm hoping someone can tell me why some of my sections have gone into my form as fields and others as groups and if there is a way to change the Type so that I can  change the ones that are 'Group' to 'Field'?

I need to be able to apply the same rules to the last two sections that I put on the first 4 in order for this project to work successfully.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Hi Lola,

By default when you insert a new section control it will bind it to a new group.  Its actually interesting that you can bind a section control to a field as I've never tried that before and InfoPath doesn't complain about it :)

But if the functionality seems to work better for when its bound to a field, all you need to do is rebind the section control.  Right click on the section and then click on Change Binding.  Select the field you want it to be bound to and that should do the trick!

Thankyou so much for your response! This seems to have worked!

     What a relief!

    Thanks again!

    Cheers
