    "From" field email submit?

    Hello all,

Is there a way to have Infopath submit via email submit data connection using the "from" field like you can in Outlook?

We have forms we send out but we need them to come from a different email address.

     Thank you,

    Hello,

You'll need to add a field in your form that stores an email address. Then, in the email data connection wizard, instead of typing an email address, click the fx button next to the "To:" field. Click Insert Field or Group button and select the email address field from your main data connection. So, the form sends email to whatever user types into the email address field.

Also, if you're running SharePoint, the easiest way to do this is by adding a Person/Group Picker control in your form. Right click on the control and select properties. In the SharePoint server tab, enter your SharePoint server URL. Then, modify your email data connection to use the DisplayName field which you can find under the Person/Group Picker node.

    Hope that helps!

    Hello Jo-Anne,

Thank you for the response, but that is not what I was after...

You know the "from" field in Outlook where you can Send on Behalf of someone else?  That is what I need in Infopath so that when I submit the form it comes from someone else not my email.

Do you think this can be done?

     Thank you,

    Hi ynygma,

Sorry if I misunderstood before. I found an answer to your question in this post: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/9176/32481.aspx. Unfortunately, it requires writing code. However, since that thread is quite old, maybe I am mistaken. Meanwhile, let's see if other posters know a solution for you.
