Custom Workflow Question - Don't have Workflow Designer

As a non-IT person in our firm, I only have one workflow template available (three-state).  I'm creating a custom workflow from this template, and I'd like one of the states to email the person identified as the reviewer by the person initiating the form.  The reviewer field is a people picker field, so I'm sure it matches up.  I just don't know how to specify it in the Task Assigned To field.  I was thinking that brackets around the field name would work, but that doesn't seem to.

    Hi there,

If memory serves me, you'll need to promote the reviewer field so that it appears in the dropdowns when you are specifiying your Assigned To field.  When publishing, there will be a page in the wiard that will let you add the field to the list of promoted properties.  Add the reviewer field and continue publishing.  Now when you try to specify Assigned To field, hopefully the reviewer will appear there.

    Good luck!
