Which is the best practice for form design?

I have to design infopath forms which will be published in a form library. I am developing XSDs first and using that xsd I am designing infopath forms. But in infopath 2010, we can also design forms from sharepoint list schema. Which is the best option and under what situations we should go for either of these? I appreciate your suggestions.

    Thanks,

    Rahul Babar
