InfoPath Dev

I need to find out how to have an Infopath form generate a new form number in a specific field on said form, each time a form is opened. 

My company issues RGA's to customers returning goods to the factory...each RGA has a unique number. Right now, I'm using Nuance PDF, and manually inputting the numbers, but that could lead to mistakes. I'd like to have the same form in InfoPath that automatically creates the RGA number each time a new form is opened.

 Help??

There´s no way in InfoPath to 'autonumber' your forms. You have to choose a workaround in any case. In my opinion one of the best way to achieve this is (if you are using a SharePoint Form Library) with hidden fields. For furhter information please have a look at one of the following links:
