    Generate Lines

Can Infopath generate something like flow graph (drawing lines) depending on values entered intot textboxes. Mainly it is about the lines the backroung is always the same. Currently it is done via Excel but it would be good to replace it.

InfoPath is not really a reporting tool. It is a great data capture tool and MS states that it is major purpose.

Yeah, this would probably be really hard to do in InfoPath. If really wanted to play hacker you might be able to do something with a 1px by 1px repeating section that you dynamically repeat horizontally and vertically to create a Cartesian plane. It'd be tough and I don't know if even doable, just brainstorming. This is kind of how you make graphs with PHP on a website, generate table cells dynamically.

Good luck! (sorry if I rambled.)

    Hi Nukkumatti,
How about a custom ActiveX control? There was a sample showing how to do what you want on MSDN a while back. Search for Joshua Bell.

    Hi Patrick,

thanks a lot for your reply. However I couldn't find what you mentioned after searching through the msdn. Could you please give me some more detailed search criteria ?
    Thx in advance.

    Hi Jerome,
Send me e-mail and I'll forward to Joshua and see if he knows where it is. It was an ActiveX sample for plotting values in InfoPath.

    Hi,

Here a nice article about reporting in infopath :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/msdnmag/issues/05/03/InsideMSDN/
    it use "Microsoft Office Chart".

there is another way, try create a graph report on .html/.aspx/.php pages and show it on task pane, I never try, but I think it will work.
