Hello everybody,

I have a Infopath 2003 form. On this form, I have a drop down list which will be filled with a data connection. Is it possible that I can add manually an additional item when I start the form? The reason is, that I get application names from the data connection, but I want to add an additional item called "Others".

And another question. Is it possible to reset the drop down list? I mean, if I change the text from a text field, the value of the dropdown list should be empty – like at the beginning.

 I hope you can understand my questions. I would be very appreciate, if you could help me.

Hi - you can use rules to clear the value from the field bound to the drop down. So, add a rule to your field bound to the text box - and have it set the field bound to the drop down to blank.

As to your first question - what is the data connection to? Is it a database table? If so, I'd create a view and use Union to add "Other" to the data at the DB level, then modify the connection to use the view.

Sure, you could do this with code - but that seems like a lot of overhead for such a small feature. No way you can add "Others" to your SharePoint list?

No, I can not change the sharepoint list. Can someone of you help me to create the code?
