Form name based on a repeating text control??

    Hello,

I have a form that has a repeating section, with a text field to store a part number.  I would like to use this field to generate a form name, and subject of email when submitted to a document library.

I'm not sure if this is possible?   Any idea?

A submit secondary datasource gives you the ability to set subject line and attachment name based on field formulas.

But I'm not sure I understand how the repeating section value is to be used.
Do you want just one particular value from one of the repeating sections? Is there a submit button in every repeated section?

Anyway, I am betting a button is inside the repeating section and when the button is pressed within a section you want to pull the value from the field.

I suggest using rules on the button to set fields in your datasource *outside* of the repeating group and those fields are used for the secondary data connection submit.

I've attached a sample for you to look at.

Thank you so much for the reply.  In my form the submit button is outside the repeating section and started out submitting the form only to a document library.   Now we want to email the form and have the subject include ALL the part numbers."

So in your form it would be the same as using a single email button, and including ALL Part numbers "Email about Item 1 Number: klk, Item 2 Number 3232, Item 3 Number 43434"

In my form the maximum number of repeating sections would be 4 so it's not bad.

Ok, so the button outside the repeating section needs to build up the subject line from the fields within the repeating section.

You can use 'double eval technique' to combine the fields in the repeating section.

This post may help you with the double eval technique.
