Displaying only the newest results below

     SharePoint 2010

Evidently, we have just crossed the threshhold of 5000 documents in our new production Infopath form for Employee Work Plans.  (We have approximately 11000 employees.)

Where can we reset this threshold temporarily, since this is a production system and people need access quickly  ?

Long term,  what is the preferred solution to this issue.    Most of the time a manager can only see their employees because of permissions that we have set, so most managers would be looking at less than 50 forms.

I got this message back from the Server Admin -  they are afraid that setting the default to 15,000 will bring down their server.

"One of the major reasons that this List View Threshold (LVT) feature was created is to protect the server from unintentional load that may either bring it down, or at least cause other users higher latency or failures. Changing this limit (default 5000) is quite simple, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you are positive that it will not negatively affect your system"

We are not sure it will or wont impact the system. I think it would be best if you could refine your views away from All Documents to specific to the user who is clicking on the view document
