    Postback error on Infopath 2010

Hi, I'm facing postback erro when i Click on Cancel button in Infopath 2010. The screen shows warning message "There has been an error while processing the form" Strange thing is that this issue comes on Clicking Cancel button. Below are the ULS logs Log1 There was a form postback error. (User: BP1\username, Form Name: Template, IP: , Request: http://listurl/editifs.aspx?List=b908c38e-9b03-453d-8c76-7fa165caf21f&ID=1197&Source=http://siteurl/SitePages/pagename.aspx?RootFolder=http%253A%252F%252Faaa%252Eaaaa%252Ebb%252Ecom%252FLists%252FITK%2520List%252FFork&ContentTypeId=0x010040BA53AE3BDFC3489727B1FAA33792DC003ACC2928E153B94584C40840570E0C52, Form ID: urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:infopath:list:-AutoGen-2011-09-09T11:21:57:155Z, Type: OverflowException, Exception Message: Value was either too large or too small for a UInt32.) I'm not able to understand the value of which column is it trying to set.

The error seems to indicate a data type mismatch: "Value was either too large or too small for a UInt32".

What rules do you have on the Cancel button?

Re: Postback error on Infopath 2010

I would suggest some troubleshooting to narrow down the issue. i.e. it might be the look up column, it might be the validation, it could even be an issue specific to this form. You could even try to make the form open in the client and see if you get a better error message. At this stage I really have no advice other than trying to modify your list and your form until you can narrow down the source of the issue. Sorry! Good luck.

Hi, I've customized list form using infopath. so i am not sure if i will be able to open it using client. also i have tried removing entire infopath form and started from scratch. still the issue persists. right nos the form has only title field. but still it gives error on cancel.

If this is happening will all forms you create, I can only imagine there's a bigger issue than just your form, possibly a Sharepoint issue, or InfoPath is corrupt and needs repaired.

     Hi Ernesto,

On more troubleshooting I found that I was able to reproduce the error on other infopath forms on the same site. Also this error doesn't come always. Out of say 20 times i click Cancel button, it appears 2-3 times at random

Additionally, I've the same site in another environment. I'm not able to reproduce the error there.

Re: Postback error on Infopath 2010

Is SharePoint running SP 1 on one environment, not on the other?

It doesn't seem like an InfoPath problem, really, but a SharePoint install issue.
