Contact Selector doesn't work after upgrading to sharepoint 2010

    Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure what section to put this in.

I'm having a problem with my contact selectors in an infopath form we've been using for a few years.

A little background on the form: When the user opens a form they can select an option to send it to multiple people for approval.  When they do so a hidden section inserts itself and they can use a repeating table to enter who they want the approvers to be.

It's been working fine in MOSS 2007, but we are upgrading to Sharepoint 2010.  In Sharepoint 2010 everything works great, except the contact selectors.  You can open the dialog and search for users, but when you select a user the contact selector stays blank.

We are getting a javascript error on the page that may be related: Message: 'EntityEditor_UseContentEditableControl' is undefined.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution?

    Thanks.

    Hello mover,

I have seen this issue before and (for me) the only option was just to open the first section by default so that on loading the form, all the controls are visible. Appearently this has something to do with the fact that the controls are hidden by default.

By the way - do you have a chance to upgrade to Infopath 2010. In Infopath 2010 you have a Person/Group Picker control which is working just fine. Please have a look at http://collab.rdacorp.com/2010/01/infopath-2010-people-picker-no-longer.html for further information.

    Hope this helps

Here is a great blog post from the InfoPath team regarding upgrading the Contact Selector to the Person/Group Picker:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/infopath/archive/2010/04/08/upgrading-infopath-2007-forms-with-person-group-pickers-to-infopath-2010.aspx

You want to move towards using Person/Group pickers in 2010 and I suggest using the method described in the blog post.  Doing so will also allow you leverage additional functionality that was added to the control in 2010.

This was the issue.  I modified the form slightly and the contact selectors work properly.  Thank you very much.

I would very much like to upgrade them to the 2010 people picker control, but my supervisor is worried about breaking the form template.

    Thanks again!

I'm seeing this behavior in InfoPath 2010 with the new person/group chooser controls, and SharePoint 2010. In my browser forms, if I have more than 1 person/group chooser inside an optional section, I get those same JavaScript errors and the fields do not fill. If I have one person/group chooser in that optional section, and I wrap all the others in that section within ANOTHER optional section, then it works fine. This doesn't work fine when copying/pasting the whole works to another view (for a quick read-only solution). The same JavaScript errors return. I have nothing else to offer though.
