InfoPath Dev

I have a repeating section that has several text boxes in it. When the user inserts a new section I would like to set the text box control values programmatically.

My question is, how do I reference the nodes in the most recently added section? I am doing the following but I keep changing the values in the repeating section just before the newly inserted one (this code is executed when a button is clicked, I don't want to set the values during the OnAfterChange event):

thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("//dfs:dataFields//s0:GetCaseDataResponse//" +
"s0:GetCaseDataResult//s0:Participants//s0:ParticipantBO//" +
"s0:firstName[last()]").text = "some dynamic text";

I actually did search through the threads, but it seems the solutions tend to revolve around the OnAfterChange event which I am not using.
