Hi Everyone,
I want to be able to query active directory with a user name to see if it exists when my form loads.
I can put the current user name (the current user who has opened the form) into a form field thanks to this post:
http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/itaysk/archive/2007/04/05/InfoPath-_2D00_-Get-the-current-user-without-writing-code.aspx
This uses the GetUserProfileByName operation.
But I was hoping to be able to specify a user name (other than me who has opened the form) and then query Active Directory to see if they exist.
For example I login to Sharepoint 2010 with a user name "Testing1", open an existing form with a data source that has a different value for a user name called "NewUser", and I want to see if the "NewUser" account exists rather than show me details of the 'Testing1" user account that I am logged in as.
I am aware of the Person/Group Picker but to use this it has to be done manually and I was hoping to automate and validate this process without having to type the user name manually into a Person/Group Picker.
Can this be done without code with the User Profile Service?
Hope this makes sense
Thanks in advance.
