    File Attachment control events

Does anyone know how to tap into any of the File Attachment control events? Here the only link I could find on msdn about the File Attachment control. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd958468(v=office.12).aspx Or if anyone has any more information on this control it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It isn't the file attachment control that has events - but the field bound to the control. What version of InfoPath are you using?

I am using InfoPath 2010. Would there be any way to determine when the user has clicked the file attachment control by using the field bound to the control's events?

No, I don't think so - by clicked, you mean to open the file, right? Is that what you are trying to ascertain?

The events are just changing, validating and changed.... I suppose you could try to leverage the context changed event (as long as this is not a browser form): http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.infopath.formevents.contextchanged.aspx

    Hello,

no, as far as I know there´s no way to determine if the attachment control is clicked. There are only a 'Validating' and a 'Changed' event bound to the attachment control. You can´t control the file attachment process before the appropriate file is attached.

If the requirement are that the user has to fill out something other before he can attach a file I can recommend that you bound a conditional format rule using a section where you put in the file attachment control.
