    double eval, newline and semi-colon

    i have been trying to put together solutions from a couple of different posts and I am so close to a solution I just need a little help. I have a listbox, I make selections in the listbox, click a button and the values are populated in a text field. the initial post for this built a comma delimited string. i want to place each new item on a newline with a semi-colon delimiter. I also have a resource file that looks like this for the newline which came from a post on this site.

    <pre><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <characters <br="">crlfsc="; &amp;#xD;&amp;#xA;"
    sc=";"
    crlf=" &amp;#xD;&amp;#xA; "
    lf=" &amp;#xA;"
    cr=" &amp;#xD;"
    &gt;
    </characters></pre>

    I added the "sc" values not present in original solution.You will have a better view of the characters.xml file from the resouces files.

    the problem I am having is I get the semi-colon first , then newline. I have attached a modified copy of the original template from here http://alecpojidaev.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/multiple-value-control/

    Kind regards,
    Larry

    Did you accidentally attach the wrong file?  This one doesn't have a characters.xml resource at all.

    Instead of having just my:f1 in your formula, change it to my:f1[. != '']  -  that will prefilter out the blank items in the list and is the best way to go about it.

    you rock!  that was the piece I was missing. I had to play with the position of the semi-colon, but worked perfectly. thanks
