User Form to update SQL DB

VERY NEW to this... opened the program for the first time a week or so ago....

     Long story short....

I have been tasked with coming up with a resolution to the issue of constantly changing schedule information in our reporting system.

     I have 2 sql db's

DB1 emailaddr, recipientname, facilityname, clientclass, deactivatedt, createdt, rptnum, emailcode

DB2 emailaddr, frequency, format, facilityname, clientclass, deactivatedt, createdt, rptnum, emailcode

What I want is a form that a user can go to and

      a. add new information

      b. deactivate an acct - simply by putting in a deactivate dt....

      c. pull up a list of all schedules based on clientclass &/or clientclass/rptnum

Created a form but having a few issues... so I have the  New Record Section with the fields they need to fill out however would like to have a button/checkbox something that first says they want to enter new or deactivate.... then based on selection certain fields show up

In the run query section trying to understand some things...

There are several ways they may want to see results from a simple summary to all details... can this be accomplished or no?

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good training material/samples?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Well - InfoPath can submit to SQL - but I'm not sure if it is going to let you combine two databases for its data source.

As to several ways to see the results - I guess you could lay the data fields out differently in different sections, and give the user an option button or something and use conditional formatting to determine which section to display.

Query fields are pretty straight-forward on a database bound field - it is just used for equivalency - so field = value

I like the Office Online InfoPath Help for the basics - Here's a link to get you started.
