InfoPath Dev

Hi,

I am attempting to use the GetCommonMemberships method of  the UserProfileService in my form. I want it to populate a dropdown box on the form.

When I preview the form in Infopath 2010 Designer, it works as expected and all the relevant DL's are there. However, when I publish the form to a Library and try to open a form, the dropdown box is empty. I have attached a screenshot of the dropdown properties for your reference.

The data connection is set to automatically retrieve data when the form is opened.

Also, I have noticed that in preview mode, only the DL's seem to be retrieved and not the SG's.

Can you please advise?

Hi - what is an "SG"? I'm guessing that by DL, you mean drop down list entries - or are you using these abbreviations to indicate SharePoint Group / Distribution List?

So, your data connection is not returning data when your form is opened in the browser? I've seen issues before where web service data connections won't run in a browser form - I'd recommend you check your SharePoint logs...., or try converting to UDC - is this a UDC already?

Apologies for the acronyms. In this context, DL's refer to Distribution Lists and SG's refer to Active Directory Security Groups.

I will try converting to a UDC but I'm not confident that it will remedy the situation.

Do you get any errors in the browser when the data connection runs? How about in the SharePoint logs? Like I said - I've seen this before, SharePoint sites that won't allow data connections to SharePoint's own web methods from browser forms -but I have never been able to figure out what is going on there.
