    Attaching a file via a brower enable form

    Hello,

    I'm hoping some kind infopath expert out there can help me. I have designed an infopath 2010 browser form which allows users to attach a file. Only problem being this file is only accessible by opening each individual form submitted. What I would like to do if possible is when they attach the file that it is attached/saved to a seperate SharePoint Library.

    Any advice on achieving this would be great.

    Thanks

    Jen

    Hello Jen,

     qRules' SaveToSharePoint command was designed specifically for this purpose.  It allows you to save file attachments out to a document library and replace them with a URL link in your form.

    You should also check out the Extract SharePoint Attachments plugin for our Migration Tool, which can process the documents you already have, saving their attachments out to a document library and replacing them with links in your forms.

    Please have a look!

    I've used this for saving files to a SharePoint list -- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892730

    But really you only need to use all of that if you're saving and retrieving.  If you're just saving, you can just use the .net function System.Convert.FromBase64String and add that as an attachment to your SP item.

    e.g. mySPItem.Attachments.Add("my_file.doc", Convert.FromBase64String(myInfoPathFileAttachment.Value));
