Mailto tag acting weird on Infopath 2007 Webform(s) in IE 9 or IE 8

I've place a couple mailto tags on different web-enabled Infopath 2007 forms that I publish to several SharePoint sites.  When you click on the mailto link in IE9/IE8, the browsers attempts to navigate to mailto:[email protected] which gives you a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage".  A new message is created and it is addressed to [email protected] but IE has navigated off of my form.   I've tried this on multiple forms and all of them misbehave this way in IE 9 and IE 8.  The forms work fine in Firefox.

I checked with another developer where I work and they report the same issue on their forms.  I've searched far and wide but can't find anyone else that seems to have this problem.

Does anyone here have this problem or do your mailto links work in web-enabled forms with IE?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have the same issue, do you find how to resolve it?

    Thanks.

I found two ways to resolve this issue.

    1) On the Security tab in IE, in the Internet zone uncheck "Enable protected Mode".  Probably a bad idea if you care about security.

    2) On the Local intranet or Trusted sites tab, add the specific mailto tag to the mailto:[email protected] to your list of trusted sites.  I couldn't get wildcards to work here which would have been really nice.

Thank you, but in my case the mailto is dynamic so finally I'll resolve my issue creatring another page which makes the mailto.

On infopath muy hyperlink goes to a page whith querystring parameters.

That page gets the values of the querystrings parameters (body, subject, to) and calls to the mailto.
