x0020 in field names from Sharepoint WSS

    Hello,

I have a receive data connection to a list in WSS3.0 used to populate some text fields.  When I insert the field and set a filter the field shows up as "First x0020 Name" instead of "First Name".  What's going on here?  The Sharepoint columns are single line text.

Nothing unusual about this at all - this is the internal name that SharePoint is using for the column, with the space value converted to SharePoint's own 'special' encoding. You may find the highest rated answer to this post on the SharePoint StackExchange site informative.

Please don't post the same question in separate places. I answered this question in a more recent thread.

I am not sure I am clear on how to fix my similar problem. I have several years of InfoPath forms that use the same column (Area Name). After a Migration to SharePoint 2010 the Display name is showing up in SharePoint and InfoPath as Area_x0020Name. This is an issue because that is the name that shows as the column heading in SharePoint and column name when I attempt to publish the form. InfoPath will not allow me to change the name.

Is this just a SharePoint problem or is there something I should be able to do in InfoPath to fix this. The field name on the form is correct it is just column name that InfoPath sees as Area_x0020Name when publishing.
