    Qrules inputparameter - I am missing something

    Hi, I am using qrules 3.1

    I have a form which I am accessing through dbxl.. the url I am attempting to use is

    http://.../QdabraWebService/Forms/....nt/template.xsn?appid=0004018

    In my form I have a rule which attempts to use qrules - the command I am using is GetInputParameter /key=appid - I have checked there are no trailing spaces.

    When I open the form I get

    Result = ""
    Success = false
    Error = the requested key appid was not spcified in the input parameters.

    I am obviously misunderstanding/misreading what to do, could someone please point me in the right direction.

    Thankyou.

    This seems right - I haven't used this exact scenario before, tho. I'll try to set up something similar in the next day or so - see what my results are. When are you running your command?

    One important point with GetInputParameter is that you can't use it from a Form Load rule.  If that is indeed where you are trying to use it from, please move your rule to qRules' finishedLoading node, which will trigger when the input parameters are ready to be accessed.

    Thank you.  I was trying to run it in form load rules.

    Could you explain what the finishedloading node is and how/when I should use it, I have looked in the 3.1 user guide and cannot find a reference to it.

    Did switching to running on the change of the finishedLoading event solve the issue for you? You are right - we don't seem to have info in the user guide on that - I'll let Ernesto know.

    In general, it has to do with order of operation - rules run before code, and qRules commands are code based.
