Text box on email sent by web browser form does not display all the text entered

Hi,  I have a browser based form which has a large text box.  I've limited the amount of text that can be entered by creating a rule which prevents the form being submitted if more than 750 characters have been entered (string-length(my:YourEnquiry) > 750).  The text box has been sized to show around 1000 characters before a scroll bar appears.

This all works fine fine but the problem is that if a user enters text and includes several blank lines, a scroll bar appears and the form displays only part of the text entered (ie the text box does not expand to fit all the text.  When the form is submitted, it is emailed to a mailbox and the textbox in the email is the same size as it was on the form and so does not display all of the text (some versions of office it has a scroll bar but in others it does not).

Is there anyway I can make the text box expand to fit the text entered, or is there a better way of getting all the text to show in the email?

    Cheers

Yes, there is a way. Just set both Height and Width to Auto instead of a fixed value.

    Hi, thanks for that.

If I set both height and width to auto the field is only about 21 chars wide which looks odd because it is a comments box so needs to take quite a lot of text, and it adds a lot of space beneath the text.

So if I set the width only to 400px, the textbox looks correct and does not display a scroll bar (good..) but as you type it adds a great deal of blank space after the text (bad...), and the more you type the more unnecessary space is created beneath??  When the form is submitted, the textbox is displayed perfectly in the email - ie no extra space (very good...).

Your advice would be greatly appreciated!
