Updating a Sharepoint document library from a form

    Hello,

We have a requirement to export a completed form as a PDF to a secondary Sharepoint document library at submit time.  I have the code to do this and to obtain the ID of the newly created PDF document item in the secondary library.

What I need now is to update some metadata fields associated with this new PDF document.  I have read the articles on "How to update a Sharepoint list from InfoPath" using CAML, etc and I understand them, but how do I update a Sharepoint document library item?  I though I could use the same approach, but when I attempt to create a data connection to the SP document library from InfoPath (Data Connection Wizard -> Create a new connection to: Submit data / Submit to a Web service / Web Service -> http://spapp1:6000/PDF Library/_vti_bin/lists.asmx) I get an error:

The Internet address 'http://spapp1:6000/PDF Library/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?WSDL' is not valid.

InfoPath has added the "?WSDL".  When I directly browse to my address I get the SP Lists Web service reply.  When I add the "?WSDL" to my browsing URL I also get an error.  Using the URL "http://spapp1:6000/PDF Library/_vti_bin/lists.asmx" gives me tha same error.

How do I create the data connection so that I can update this library?

Have you considered using a SharePoint Workflow created using either SharePoinit Designer, Visual Studio or Nintex Workflow? This workflow can then be triggered when a form is saved in the library after which an automatic PDF Conversion can be carried out and fields can be set on the destination file.

Note that I worked on the automatic PDF Conversion so the usual disclaimers apply.
