Preview/test InfoPath forms with XML data

I am developing forms that do not require any user input (i.e. you may think of them as reports). But same question could apply with normal forms.

I have an XML data file that contains data that I want the form to read and display in Preview mode. How can I make this happen? The only things I found are sample data and using XML as a data source, both of which seem to apply only in design mode.

To further explain what I do in my application is to extract the XSL file from the XSN file, and use it at run time to create HTML from the XML data, i.e. I use InfoPath essentially as an XSL editor, ala Altova StyleVision or Stylus Stuio. It would be nice if the InfoPath preview mode was able to show the form with the data (taken from the XML file), and with the correct run-time behavior (e.g. conditions, repeating sections etc) much like the XSL editors do.

    Thanks,

    Welcome to the forum, ShaulDar!

In Design mode, if you open the File menu and go to Preview Form -> With Data File... you should be able to accomplish this.
