    Security validation issue after SharePoint 2010 SP1 + June CU

    Hello,

    I have updated a farm with 'Service Pack1' and the 'June CU'. Exactly after installation of this update I encountered problems with a few of my browser based forms. Every time when I click an attachment control to upload a document I get an error when I have choose the document and click the upload button. The error message is:

    The security Validation for this page is invalid. Click back in your Web Browser, refresh the page and try your operation again.

    On a similar SharePoint Farm without the SP1 there´s no error at all with this.

    Does anyone know what is causing this error and (more important ;-) ) --- how to fix it???

    Thank you very much for any tips.

    Regards,

    Here's a couple of posts I found that may help you:

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepoint2010customization/thread/6d5ffcb6-7563-4234-9282-e767b56b97b2/

    I didn't see any fixes popping off the page when I scanned them, but I also didn't read very closely - you may want to check them out if you haven't already.

    Hello Hilary,

    thank you for the links. These links indeed describe both the problem I have encountered. The problem comes with the installation of the "June Cumulative Update package" (NOT with Service Pack 1 only !!!). In short words the problem appears with a postback in the form. In my form it is the postback from the attachment control. I don´t know the exact problem but Microsoft has already confirmed this to be a bug in the "June CU" with the "Form Server".

    I have fixed the problem now in the following way --- though this is not "best practice" but there´s no other solution until MS publish a hotfix...

    To fix this issue you have to change the "FormServer.aspx".

    This file is located in:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS

    In this file you will find the line:

    <body runat="server" id="PageBody">

    After this line you have to insert the following line:

    <SharePoint:FormDigest runat="server"/>

    Now everthing works fine and the attachment control works as expected...

    Regards,

    Hello,

    just an additional note. In the meantime I have experienced some more problems with the "June Cumulative Update Package" and the 'Forms Server'. For example in the 'External Item Picker' control you can´t use the function to check if an item exist and the 'People Picker' won´t work properly anymore.

    So I just can give the advice by now not to install the "June Cumulative Update Package" if you heavily make use of the Form Server for your browser-based forms until Microsoft fixes this issue -- or insert the above mentioned line in the 'FormServer.aspx'.. :-)

    Regards,

    Has anyone seen a hot fix for this yet? We can't make those work around changes because of policies we have in place.
