Hello,

I'm having problems adding a new data connection to a Sharepoint List. What ever I seem to enter into the "location" field in the wizard keeps throwing the error "This operation could not be completed" and does not give any more information.

How much of the Sharepoint's site URL should I be putting in there? I've tried:

• http://<server>/personal/<username>/
• http://<server>/personal/<username>/ptr_test/
• http://<server>/personal/<username>/ptr_test/Lists/SL Daily PTR1/

Ultimately I'm trying to submit an InfoPath form's data to a Sharepoint list. I've followed various tutorials online (which are mostly the same) such as: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/infopath/archive/2007/03/26/submitting-to-a-sharepoint-list.aspx

So, it is step 5 you are stuck on?

Are you adding a web service data connection?

The basic URL is:

http://servername/_vti_bin/lists.asmx 

For you, perhaps:

http://<server>/personal/<username>/_vti_bin/lists.asmx

You can check your URL in the browser, make sure you are returning the lists web service page (generally looks like the attached screenshot).
