    Infopath Cache Issues

    Hi,
I have published serveral forms to Sharepoint. Infopath is a relatively new product in our org.
The issue I am having is that every time an update is made to the form and the form is republished, users get this error prompt.
The form you are opening has the same formid as a form already on your computer.
The users then have 2 options:
    1. Keep form on Computer
    2. Replace form on computer
I know clearing cache or selecting Replace form on computer will fix this issue.
I understand this has to do with Infopath caching forms for offline use. However to a regular user this appears as if it were an error message. Is there anythinng I can do to avoid this?
    Your help is appreciated.

In design mode, take a look at Tools -> Form Options -> Advanced Tab. There is a section there that pertains to the Form Template version and how it handles upgrades. You could just "Do nothing" and will probably stop the message from coming up, but would keep the user from obtaining the most up-to-date version of the form. Another option "Use custom event" could be used to automatically update the form without seeing the message.

I am having this problem as well.

The handling on the version chack event seems to fire after the box is displayed.

Is there a way that the form could be removed from the cache using vbscript when the form closes?

    Hi Stephen,
    Welcome to the Forum!
InfoPath will ask you to replace old form template only when there is a change in the site address.
Fix for this is, When ever you are updating the form template, publish it on the same form library where the previous template is, then you will not get this dialog.

Check out these threads, I think they should have what you're looking for to run the outside script:
