Simple Data validation on Submit issue (resolved)

    Hello all,

I have a simple form with about 6 checkboxes and all I want to do is make it when I hit the submit button that at least 1 checkbox has to be checked.

OK, it might be a little more complex than that because each checkbox when submitted puts a bunch of email addresses in the CC field of an email submit data connection.  What I am attempting to do, is having a hidden field (ccvalidation) which value = the checkbox field values.

So in my submit button, I have 2 rules that state:

    1. condition: ccvalidation is not blank
actions: Submit using data connection: Email Submit
                 Close this form: No Prompt

    2. condition: ccvalidation is blank
actions: Show dialog message: You must at least select 1 group!

So when I hit the submit button, the dialog message appears if nothing is checked or at least 1 checkbox is checked.

So what am I doing wrong?

    Thank you,
    Ynygma

    UPDATE:

I was able to find something similar in the General forums and figured out what I needed to make it work.

     Thank you,
    Ynygma

    Hi,

I think it may be a little trickier than that...

What you need to do is remove the CC validation field.  Then on your submit rules use something like this

    rule 1

    If <checkbox1> is blank and

    If <checkbox2> is blank and

    If <checkbox3> is blank ect...

actions: Show dialog message: You must at least select 1 group!

IMPORTANT - set this rule to Stop processing rules when this rule finishes

(This will stop the form from getting to rule 2 if it gets triggered by the blank checkboxes)

    Rule 2

actions: Submit using data connection: Email Submit
                 Close this form: No Prompt
