Show success and failure messages when submitting a web based form

I am using InfoPath 2007 and published a web based form to SharePoint. Custom buttons are used for saving and submitting instead of the toolbar. Someone told me that you can use the built-in submit options even if you associate them with a custom button. Unfortunately, it is not notifying me when "The form was submitted successfully." I must be doing something wrong. Don't you need to have the "Show success and failure messages" checked off in "Submit Options" to work? Please advise. Thanks

After the submit portion of your button rules completes, add another rule to show a dialog box.  You can add custom text there.

Thanks Derek but this is a web based form and when I tried to add a "Show dialog box message" , I get "This action is not supported by InfoPath Forms Services."

    Silly me...didnt' see the title..

Yes, you can set your submit options, then apply them to a button.  To have the pop-up messages, you do need to have the Show Sucess and Failure messages.  When you create your button (assuming you don't have any code), you can set it to use the submit options that you created.
