InfoPath Dev

Hello all, thanks for checking this issue out . . . 

I've never come accross this error before, I'm wondering if someone else has.

I have a user with access to various sharepoint document libraries. The user has IE9 on a windows 7 machine as well as InfoPath 2007 installed.The user which has rights to create new documents in the libraries can open existing documents. However when the user clicks "new" to create a new Infopath document an error pops up immediately.

"Message from webpage

This feature requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later and a Windows SharePoint Services-compatable XML editor such as Microsoft Office InfoPath."

As I mentioned before, the user has both and he can open exisiting forms from the same library.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can correct this? I should also mention that no other user is having this issue.

Is this a web form or a client form?

Also you mentioned that the user as InfoPath 2007 installed - does the user also have either InfoPaty 2003 or InfoPath 2010 installed?  There are some known issues out there with multiple versions of InfoPath installed and this sort of message makes me think it could be because of multiple instances of InfoPath installed.

Since no other user is having this happen I would suspect some sort of client machine configuration issue - you could try a repair of office and or InfoPath to see if that fixes it.  Sometimes you need to uninstall office entirely and reinstall to fix issues similiar to this but I would use that as a last option.

Hi Ted,

 This is a web based form, and the user has one instance of MS Office2007 /w InfoPath 2007 installed. I have suggested to the user have his respective I.T. dept re-install MS Office. Other than that, I'm outta ideas. Like I said before, no other user is having this issue.
