    Conditional formatting on recursive sections

    Hi

I have a recursive section in my form. The controls inside this section in the base section (first level) have conditional formatting on them.

I would have expected each further level of this recursive section would also inherit this conditional formatting but it doesn't appear to.

My problem is that I disable these controls under certain conditions, but the conditional formatting will only disable the controls in the first level section. I am basically trying to "lock" my form, and it is imperative that I lock everything but I can't see anyway to do this with a recursive section's controls. Any ideas?

    Regards

    Hi Adam,
Add conditional formatting to the section not the controls.

with condition formatting on sections, you cannot "disable" a section.. you can only hide it. the section needs to appear, its just that the controls need to be locked.

    Hi Adam,
You cannot disable a child controls depending on the conditional formatting set on the parent control.

If you need to implement that feature then
You need to create two sections one with controls enabled and the other with disabled. And show the enabled/disabled section depending on the conditional formatting.

Re: Conditional formatting on recursive sections

    Hi

I'm not quite sure I see how the answer pertains to recursive sections?
Since I cannot see the controls inside the recursive section (because it would go on forever........!) how can I enable or disable them? I would have assumed the first-level of the recursive control would set up the conditional formatting for future levels.

I'm not sure I'm making my question clear enough - the key part is that it is recursive and you cannot access anything but the first-level controls in a recursive section. How then, do you do anything with 2nd 3rd 4th.. n'th level controls.
