    get field value of last row repeating table

    is there a way to return or get the value of the last row of a repeating table, and when new row is added, the value updates to the new value. 2010 seems to have retired the last() function

    Kind regards,
    Larry

    The last() function should be working fine in 2010.  Are you creating a browser-enabled form?

    Yes i am sorry for not including that. This is a browser enabled form. I am finding out many functionality is getting lost from the client to browser, But even before publish, Last is not an available option. When I type it in I get the error not supported.

    Kind regards,

    I believe a workaround for my:nodeName[last()] is to use my:nodeName[count(following-sibling::my:nodeName) = 0].  Could you give that a try?

    I know this is an old topic but I wanted to follow up on it. I used this expression and it actually returns all the target nodes, not just the last one. It could be my fault somehow, but I am more prone to think that it is doing exactly what the XPath was intended to do. Bummer that M$ doesn't support Last () in web enabled forms!!

    I had my question answered in the following StackOverflow topic here

    Jimmy, your expression was able to bring another StackOverflow member to the answer that worked for me. Due to my limited understanding it may be that I was unable to recognize how Jimmy's original statement could have worked in another, similar situation. Either way I hope this helps others as well!

    contains(//my:RepeaterSection[0=count(following-sibling::my:RepeaterSection)]//my:TargetNodeName,'TargetString')
