    Re: Count multiple values in repeating table

    I like easier ways...  I have a checklist asking a question with a drop down control with answers (these are the ones I want to count) and then a comment text box.  I've used the count method you mention above, however, it limited me on the number of fields I could count to something like 40 (ish).  I have 182 questions.  Is there an easier way to count them?  Thanks.

    That would depend on how your data source is structured.  Could you attach a screenshot of enough to give us an idea of how you've organized it?

    Have attached a screen shot.  In the drop down, have options of selecting 'pass' 'finding' or 'discrepancy'.  Thanks.

    It seems you have attached a screenshot of the form's layout, but not its data source.  I need to see what the data source looks like in order to help you.

    Oops sorry.  I've opened the data source (control) and screen shot that.  Is this what you're looking for?

    Almost.  I wanted to see the contents of the Data Source taskpane (see where it says Data Source on the right side of your first screenshot?)  But this may be enough.  Do all the dropdown boxes have a name starting with gpsresp, and are the dropdowns the only fields with names like that?

    yes, the dropdowns in that section all start with gpsresp then the number of the question.  The comment boxes start with gpscom then the number of the question (text box).

    In that case, I think the following should allow you to count how many fields with each response there are:

     count(//*[starts-with(local-name(), 'gpsresp')][. = 'Pass'])
