Submitted form not showing up in sharepoint.

    Situation:

I have created a form library in sharepoint, which is communicating succesfully with infopath because the columns were automatically named from fields on my form.

     Problem:

When I submit the form, it closes and data never shows up in sharepoint.

     What I have tried:

Used all YouTube videos -- shows you how to do everything up to submitting the form, but no tutorials on what happens right after form submission. I am under the impression that there should be instances of each filled out form showing up in the designated form library on sharepoint.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!

Hello & welcome. I take it you've published your form correctly to the library. Did you add a Submit connection to your form that submits to that same SharePoint library? Here's an Office Online article - it is for IP 2007, but regardless of your version it should be close to the same ....

Thanks for the response and idea!

That is correct, I am submitting to the same location as where I published the form. I also read your article you suggested and I followed the procedure correctly, or at least in my biased view.

From my understanding, I hit add document and the form I generated pops up. I only have two text boxes to keep my form simple. I also have a submit button that is targeted at the same location where I accessed the form. After hitting submit, the form drops away and then there is no instance in the sharepoint site.

The only problem I can think of is maybe I do not have permission to post to the site, but no error message is recieved.

    Any other good ideas?

Can you just attach your template to a reply here - I'll take a quick look at it? Under the "Options" tab when you reply, you can attach a file....

I think it is the URL you used in your submit. Open your library in Windows Explorer and look in the "Forms" folder.... Is your XML in there?

Your Submit connection needs to be to the library URL, which ends at InfoPath Gary Test.

It worked! Hilary knows her InfoPath!

Thank you so much for your help and time today, both of which I know is valuable.

See you around the boards as I get more advanced into using IP,

     Hello Hillary,

I am a self taught InfoPath/SharePoint user out of desperation.  I do not always understand the technical vocabulary.  I am having the same issue as your previous inquirer.  I am not sure what "library" you are referring to or how to look for the forms folder.  I am sure I do know how, but do not know the right wording.

I have checked the URL several times and feel certain that I have the correct one.  If you could offer any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

I have attached the form for you to view.

Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.

Looks like your form is published to Incidents/Incident Tracking and your form submit is to Incidents. The submit connection needs to be changed to Incidents/Incident Tracking.

Re: Submitted form not showing up in sharepoint.

     Good morning Hilary,

I've run into this problem in the past as well - however, recreating the submit button has always worked for me.

The client had a change to the Amount field and wanted it to show up in currency so I changed the field properties for it.  I got a mismatch when publishing and fixed it, published again.  Now the form is there but the data isn't rendering.

I've tried to redo the connections and that hasn't worked either.  Any ideas would be most helpful.  I can't upload b/c my form is 538kb.

I also just published to a new library and now it won't come up when you hit add document.

    Thanks, Sonia
