Inaccurate data passed from an InfoPath Form into SharePoint Library

    Good Morning,

I apologize if this issue has already been addressed, but was unable to locate a solution online.

    To try and summarize:

Basically two properly titled fields are being populated in SharePoint via columns (Column A and Column B). The issue being is that both Columns are populated with the data from Column B. When I open and/or export the form, the value for Column A is correct. The only instance I can find where it is incorrect, is when the value is passed to the SharePoint Library

I am not sure if this could be part of the issues, but they are cascading fields.

I thank you in advance for your help,

    Cody

Hi - So are these promoted properties from your form?

Correct, they are promoted directly from the form. It is odd though, when I created a completely new form library the information promoted properly. But within the existing one, the information is not correct. As I am new to SharePoint, I was not sure if there was any type of diagnostic tool or log file that would show with certainty where the data is being pulled from.

    Thanks,

    Cody

That's an odd one. I'm not sure if there is a log of any kind.... if you save the form as source files, you can see the GUID of the column that you are promoting a field to, and the field that is being promoted.... that may help you see what the issue is. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb265073(v=office.12).aspx for a bit more info.

I would make sure that when the form was first published it created a new column versus using an existing core/base column? When you create a column name that already exist in the SharePoint Site Column Gallery.. IP will default to this column. You can just check the two fields to make sure they are creating a new column in your specific library. This can cause all sorts of problems...
