    Certificate Issue

    Hello,

Really hoping someone can help me.

I am having trouble getting a proper certificate issued from our internal PKI for use with Infopath.  When I try to save a form using the certificates that I have been issued for testing, I get the following message: “Infopath cannot save the following form: xxxxxxxxx  The certificate selected to sign this form template is either not available or is invalid.  Select a valid certificate and save the form template.”  I can save forms with the self signed template which can be generated out of Infopath.

Our Microsoft PKI administrators aren’t sure that they are using the correct template settings.  Can anyone with a working non-self signed certificate provide me with the settings that they use (or better yet if the MS Certificate Template settings are known please send them to me)

Thanks in advance for any help!

    Jen

Run "certmgr.msc" and view the properties for the certificate that was issued.  It should show that you have a private key associated with the certificate, and it should show that it can be used for Code Signing.  Knowing that the certificate is for Code Signing should be enough for the PKI administrators to select the appropriate certificate template.

Thanks but that's not the problem, the certificte is set for Code signing and private key is not the issue.

When I select the certificate, it won't let me save it and says that it isn't valid.

Compare the self-signed cert details created by InfoPath with your PKI provided cert.  Is it a 2048 bit key?  Can you verify the root CA is trusted and reachable on your desktop?
