Hello,
In our office we have used InfoPath 2010 in a limited fashion, mainly for creating forms that ‘submit’ via e-mail to staff members. We had several (30+) of these forms on a network drive. About 2 weeks ago, the server was changed/upgraded and in the process its actual file path changed. The directory structure was kept the same, only the first part of the file path name changed ( from \FSserv01\ to \FSSsv02\ ).
Forms that are opened from this new location and sent will open fine for the recipient(s). Old forms that were sent when the templates were on the old server won’t open. We get a series of messages:
*Form is opening (showing the old file path in the msg box)
*InfoPath could not open the form (again showing the old file path)
* InfoPath could not open the file because the template could not be found (showing the old file path).
I have found that if the user saves the .xml form to their desktop, then opens it with Notepad, they can see the old file path. If they manually change that first part to the correct path and re-save it, the form will then open correctly. Unfortunately, they have hundreds of forms that still point to this old path.
Is there any way to tell InfoPath where the new form is located other than my cumbersome workaround? I tried to search the site (and Google) but surprisingly found very little.
Thanks!
