Linking data in Sharepoint Library to a Sharepoint List

I am using MOSS 2007 and Infopath 2007. By default, data collected in Infopath is loaded into a Sharepoint library. Is there a way to either link that data to a Sharepoint list or is using the CAML method the only way to placing the data in a list?

    Thanks

    Hi Phill,

Yes, you can use the CAML method described on other sites or just download the free trial of qRules and set it up that way (less work and easy to change). We have lots of qRules customers who do this. Very simple. CAML can also be done but the technique is relatively brittle and fails if schema or views change.

So there is no inherent ability within Sharepoint to link a library with a list?

Not to my knowledge - you may be able to do something with SharePoint designer to create a list style view of your form data - or use workflow to create new list items when your form is submitted...

or use the CAML approach which is harcoded and messy

please realize: if SharePoint didn't have gaps Microsoft couldn't provide space for partners to come in and help them support the product. Microsoft relies on this support to build a vibrant ecosystem. So, they have to leave gaps in SharePoint and InfoPathDev and Qdabra (same company) help you fill those gaps with free help and training, inexpensive accelerators and tools, and a bevy of other bonanzas...
