InfoPath Dev

I don't know if this question should be asked in a SharePoint forum but I created a few new fields on an existing InfoPath 2007 template and promoted them.  I used the relink documents from the view menu of form libraray , selected forms to relink then clicked "relink selected docuements" and no change was made.  It appears I still have to manually update each form individually to populate the new form fields.  

Is this normal behavior? 

Relink doesn't resave. For the promo props to show you need to resave. If you have >100 you can download and install DBXL and use it with the Doc Migration tool to do the resave of all the forms and then delete DBXL. :)

hi, same problem persists in my project also. It happened after migration of SP2007 to SP2010. Can anyone help, i cant use any tool for it. its client based

Its a case with 2010SP

The issue is that the fields you added are not actually present in the current XML. The XML have to be opened with the new template for the new fields to be added via the versioning behavior.

Thanks for the reply but actully what i did was just reduced the size of text written in the form. Now we did this earlier also in SP2007 but never faced any issue in relinking. We are workin on 2 projects n both showed the same problem after upgradation. When we just open the form and cancel  its openning it gets relinked and all the fields become visible now. We cant do this for 5500 forms. If u r online pls add me on [email protected] for chat. thanks
