passing multiple values to the filterowssvr for a query

I'm using multi-select list boxes to filter a huge list which I want to use to populate a repeating table with the Insert command.  However, I'm unable to find the syntax for the URL protocol that supports multiple values so I can populate my Command field to fire the XML query.

    Is this not possible?

    Thanks in advance,
    Beckie

That command supports multiple filters, like this:

     FilterOwssvr /dsname=FilterOwssvr /filter=Deduction,Price /value=Charity,1000

(comma delimit both the filter and value parameters)

    Hope this helps.

That somewhat clears it up, but what if Deduction options are Charity OR Medical Price can be 1000 OR 500?

To my knowledge, owssvr.dll doesn't handle complex queries like that. What version of SharePoint are you using? If 2010, you may want to use the OData service.

That would probably be the issue. We’re in 2007 here still so it sounds like I will find a creative solution to this!

    Thanks!

    Hi Serenity,

We have another tool that supports very complex queries. It's bundled in the DBXL Web service and you will need to install on the ShP server. Easy to use though and we have lots of documentation.

    Cheers!
