    Sending data to SharePoint column

I have an Infopath form with 2 sections that users can order support to IT. When the user submits it the status field receives OPENED and posts a xml in a form library in the SharePoint. In the second section the IT team answers the request and the status field receives CLOSED.
So, what I would like to do is send the status field information from the xml (data source) to the form library column (called status too). The purpose is look at the SharePoint column and find CLOSED or OPENED in each request.

    Tks, Doug.

Really useful Virgul. This resource add a new column in the form library that was published.
But I submit all my forms in another DOC library. Maybe I can't do this... Do you have any other idea?

Sorry I'm french I don't really understand your problem!

    So two possibilities:

-wait on the MVP or somebody that understand better english as me
-or explain me one more times with other words

    Thanks for your understanding!

    Hi,

did you map this status field when you published the form?

the easiest way to publish forms into forms libraries in sharepoint is to let Infopath create the library and then map the fields from the IP form that you want to show in the fields in the sharepoint list.

    Ok Anders. It works properly!
Actually, I've created the form library in the SP directly and then published it. However, I submit the form in another DOC library (by jscript) that doesn't have the Status field.
So, I will change the submit path to the original form library that I published and map the Status column.
    Thanks a lot.
    Doug.
